Dirt, I Don't think Jimmy G was going to stay in New England without knowing for sure he was going to start within a couple of years. I think him leaving had as much to do with being able to start as it did with the money. I think Jimmy G as a free agent would have received more on the open market than the Pats would ever have been able to afford without really hurting their cap situation. I think the only way Jimmy G would have stayed in NE is if the Pats decided to move away from Tom Brady like the 49ers did with Joe Montana

Fair enough

Jimmys my boy, glad he is with the Niners now

Can't blame him. What QB wants to spend his prime years riding the bench

matt Moore is the only one that comes to mind. I believe he turned down an offer to start a few years back and elected to sign in Miami when Tannehill was clearly the future

I had a similar argument with a 49er fan about Steve Young/Montana. That was a unique situation and would be very hard to keep both on the roster for years in today's NFL

Santa wasn't drunk, he was a no show. Then they put a drunk guy in a santa suit for fun.

Reading national news of local events makes you retarded.

So that makes ok to pelt him with snowballs? Haha

Way to break that “guys from philly are douches” stereotype!

Haha

POTY.

100% correct!

That’s why I posed my question to Dirt and why he was smart enough to avoid answering it.

Keeping Jimmy G meant not ONLY getting rid of Brady (who had just won the league MVP and led the team to the SB) it ALSO meant making sacrifices (cap space wise) elsewhere. That’s just dumb.

Dropping a QB playing at an MVP level AND losing cap space and other players in the process all to keep jimmy G? I’ll say it again... dumb

if this actually happened, Belichick was probably the one on the right side. Gronk has trouble staying on the field and is pricey. I would probably do the same thing.

BB is always right

But can't blame Kraft, he already looks dead so he has to be on the doorstep
Probably doesn't care about the future

Montana
Peyton
Favre

All greats forced to move on to make room for the next great youngster

Not Tom, they trade the next great youngster

Drama Queen
How many of them QB'd their teams to their 1st SB ever?
Then added an additional four just for good measure?
Yeah it's the same thing:crazy:

I don't really believe in the rumors about Gronk being traded. He's a valuable asset to Brady and has been since 2010. At the end of the day, he'll remain a Patriot.

Dont be you

Montana went on to lead the Chiefs to the playoffs

I think Peyton won an MVP and a SB with Denver

And Favre led a 15-1 was it? Vikings team

Even the great ones have to know when its time to move on

Not Tom, he demands they trade the future of the franchise

Cause hes an "Insecure Faggot"
