I'm not a fan of Rosen at all. Talent wise he may be worth a 1st. But his mental state, attitude isn't worth a 7th.

I'd love Murray at 15 but he wont be there and I wouldn't waste the picks it would cost to move up. Take the best QB on our boards at 15. If none are worth 15, then bpa and pick one later.

How goes AZ. Justify the picks they gave up only to receive a 3rd ? That is the question
You cannot expect a haul in return for a player you choose to discard for another of the same position that you just drafted last year. The CARDS lowered Rosen value by stating they will replace him with Murray. Rosen will fetch no more than a 3rd rounder.

I'm actually circling back to Lock and like him more than Rosen. I think what is appealing to me about acquiring Rosen is that it could possibly free up 15 to address WR or OLB. That's not a good reason to hand the franchise to someone.

Lock wont be there at #15. So we would have to trade up to get him. IF we get Rosen for a 3rd or 2nd and take a guy like Ford at #15 to shore up the oline what is wrong with that?

After the combine guys like Lock and Sweat wont be there. If you want an OLB Burns will be there. If you want a WR I believe Metcalf will be there.

If we could get Rosen by trading the #15 pick, I would be very happy.

I think Rosen could develop really well under Jay Gruden.

You might be right about this guy developing, but therein lies the problem. A trade here and he never gets the chance to develop properly. There will be calls to start him right away when for a guy like this time and patience will best serve in that development. He'll get hurt (he has a history of both bodily injuries and concussions) and in season two, folks will be calling him a bust while eying the 2020 NFL draft for a QB.

We don't want Josh Rosen. He is a bust.

He is impulsive and struggles to read coverages.

I am willing to give most rookies time to develop, but Rosen is on the Deshone Kizer spectrum where his cognitive skills will never allow him to be even an average NFL QB. This would be a massive mistake.

You know, for the life of me, I cannot remember one QB (and there have been a number of them) named Josh that has amounted to anything special in the NFL.:D

im hearing rumors that Rosen can be had for a 3rd. That is a major steal. Im shocked teams like NE, PItt, and LAC are not interested in this guy.

I won't complain if the cost is a 3rd.

But mark my words.

Skins will be drafting a new QB in 2 years.

Except they think Murray is the next Russell Wilson and that Rosen sucks.

They already picked Rosen. No do overs there. It is a sunk cost. Now they should recoup what they can before his value drops even lower.

Just hope the Skins aren't their sucker.

If Lock is out of reach, I'd have no problem giving up 46 for Rosen. I don't think we get him for a 3rd, but that's the word. Walking away with Rosen for our highest 3rd would be ideal.

I think one thing you guys overlook with regard to Rosen...his cap hits for us would only be

2019- 570k
2020- 660k
2021- 750k
2022 rights

That is great.

But if he continues to be the worst starting QB in football, his cap number isn't helping us win games.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

In the case of Alex Smith, sometimes you don't.

I see some of the posts relate to combine results. Are people still getting overly impressed by these results when they only represent a small part of the overall picture? 40 times & other results are nice, but they don't really show how a guy will do on the football field.

Everyone fell in love with WR John Ross because of his 40 time & yet he has done little to date. On the flip side guys like Brady, Rice & E. Smith had mediocre or worse measurable yet are either current of future HOFers. These results are nice but folks need to keep these in perspective.
