The problem was in the original ignorance that believed that playing like crap somehow had something to do with a farm animal. Chicken **** is probably what comes to mind.

The idiot brought the goat to the game and they actually LET HIM IN with it ... then said the damned thing stunk. That was before I was born, believe it or don't (1945) and I've been on Social Security for 2 years.

They've blamed everything but Halley's Comet, which actually comes around more often than the Cubs win WS titles.

The goat may have had more to do with the Cubs demise than Bartman... but Dusty still sticks to that excuse.

I don't believe in curses or bad luck in baseball, other than the curse self inflicted suicide by stupidity, fiscal irresponsibility or apathy brings on. How many other teams have went a century without winning the big one ? They must be uniquely stubborn about doing the same things. Status quo sucks when you aren't at the top. Maybe a lesson for the Reds in there somewhere. Just saying.

speaking of luck, is anyone watching the Wash-StL. game?
First inning, Carpenter leads with a bloop hit, is out trying to stretch but the 2B drops the ball. Then an out and a blooper back of 2nd. A walk and Molina hits a ball about 300 feet in the air, 140 feet from the plate, that drops in to score 2 runs. Another run on a botched DP ball.

Folks, when you can get 3 runs like that off Strasburg, it is going to be a very long season for somebody.
