NJ Devils: Sweden West
It appears that baring a surprise trade, Rolston is going to remain on the Devils this season.
Realistically, how many goals do you expect him to score this season?
I think that 20-22 is reasonable, with a max of 25-27.
He can shoot but has averaged between 4-5 minutes less per game since the Devils signed him.
I think the biggest factor will be if he gets powerplay time. MacLean hasn't let Kovy run wild for 2 minutes at a time, which I think is the best solution. I'd rather have Kovalchuk going full force for 60 seconds versus going 80% speed for 120.
If Rolston can get some second unit PP time, he'll fare much, much better. He's definitely not breaking into the top 6 anytime soon, so he will need to produce with Clarkson and Zubrus. Apparently he has switched to a new stick. I hope he starts fast and gets on a roll (maybe getting some of the fan-base off his back while he's at it.)
