I think the Eagles will go with a Free Agent at RB. These are the available guys...

DeMarco Murray - Too Expensive
Justin Forsett - Pass Catcher. I believe the Eagles want RBs to run the ball. The Pass catchers will have more to offer other offenses.
Steven Jackson. Too Old
Ahmad Bradshaw. Too injured. Too Old
Reggie Bush. Too Old
Mark Ingram. Maybe
Ray Rice. Maybe.

DeAngelo Williams. Too Old
Ryan Matthews. Maybe
Frank Gore.. Too Old
Stephen Ridley. Fumbles
Shane Vereen. Pass Catcher
CJ Spiller.. Maybe
Darren McFadden. Hasn't done anything in 3 years.
Chris Johnson. Tool Old
Roy Helu. Pass Catcher

Four guys stick out. Which one is an Eagle??

I suspect the market for these guys is somewhere around $2-5M per year. Quite a bargain compared to McCoy at $10M. McCoy may be a better back, but there is an argument to be made that a more North/South guy would be more productive in this offense.

Ingram, Vereen or Forsett for me. Or, we can just draft one

I don't like Ingram, I think he is too slow for the NFL.

I prefer just drafting a rookie and bringing back Polk and Sproles.

I like Gurley or possibly Langford for RB if we draft one. Abdullah is interesting as well.

I think they draft a RB. With Sproles and Polk already here they have a couple of veterans plus they have Barner and Tucker around.

Spiller fits I guess. But honestly in Chip's system, he needs 2 fast RB's who can catch the ball and do not fumble. I say 3-4 round in the draft he gets his guy

I think they draft a RB...unless Chip trades all the picks for Mariota!

Bush or Spiller. I'd get a vet like that on a 1-2 year deal & draft a RB.

Look at the numbers and you will see that this offense doesn't have RBs catching the ball as much as some. The big thing is to be able to effectively run the read option, and that has a RB choosing the correct path and going north/south in a hurry. Having a big back that will hit the whole hard is what Chip wants here.

Oh I totally agree, I just feel that having a RB option that CAN catch more would help him. Many times, that RB on the read hits a seam route and is wide open.

I would draft a RB and go with him + Darren Sproles and Chris Polk

It's proven that most recently, teams who draft RB's end up having really good rookie seasons

What? There were 14 RBs drafted in rounds 2-4 last year and only two of them, Jeremy Hill (#55) and Tre Mason (#75), had really good years.

Most recently isn't just this season, it's the last 2-3 years

Well in 2013, would you have counted Zac Stacy? He already got replaced just a year later.

Lacy, Bell were better in year 2 than year 1. Montee Ball?

Giovanni was really solid, but like Stacy also got replaced already.

I just thought it an odd statement by you. It's been proven? Where? By who?
