Clemens has been the standout player so far tonight.
Yeah, I didnt want to bring that up. I'm glad he looks like a good backup but its reminding me of how much Bradford has to prove

Zac Stacy punches it in from the 2!

Not the Ravens front 7, but I like it.

The Rams wouldn't have picked Jeffrey at #50. According to reports they wanted a LB at #45 and both choices were there. They gambled on 1 being available at #50. It was a gamble they lost. Picking Pead still made made no sense.

Thanks SJ76. Now I remember and it looks like you're scenario was yet another draft we could very easily have had but effed-up. Not good at all. We can only hope Pead emerges but without consistent run blocking, you get this cadre of RBs running sideways and the running game goes down the toilet.

Sure it did, although Lamichael James probably would've been the guy that most of us would've guessed at that point.

At the half: We started with 3 fumbles and finished with 11 penalties. We were much the better team, (not surprising vs the Ravens #3 QB who won't make the team). The back-up OL was much improved. QB Clemens was the best player for us. Quick, Austin, Bailey, McNeil, & Pettis showed some abilities. Quick & Pettis also made a few errors. The RBs looked less awful. Pead had his best ever play as a Ram brought back on a hold. He still doesn't want to run hard inside even when the play is there. Stacy doesn't have the speed or shiftiness to be effective outside. Stacy pounded it in from 2 yards against a weak defense. The defense controlled the Ravens. Daniels looked good at CB. Conrath made some plays at DT. Still no coverage breakdowns or big plays. Overall our best performance so far in pre-season.

Considering we had an All-Pro RB, no-one at LG, Jason Smith at RT, no #3 DT, 2 FA projected starters at LB, no #2 or #3 CB, Dahl at SS...taking Pead at #50 made no sense.

Cunningham continues to shine when he gets the chance. 8 carries for 76 yards - with our longest run of the preseason.

Game over and the Rams have won. A late pick at the goal-line preserved a 3 point lead. Positives on offense: Clemens was accurate. He read the defense well. He looked defenders off and delivered the ball on time for most of the plays. Occasionally he was hesitant and threw late, (safe passes), which resulted in incompletions and missed opportunities. Quick looked as though he's emerging from his mental fog. Austin looked explosive, although I was never completely sure who he'd damage. Cunningham had a very nice night. The back-up OL looked better. McNeil showed he can play at TE.
Positives on defense: The defense has been solid all pre-season. No big plays. No blown coverages. Our defensive packages show good disguise. Our blitzes weren't obvious pre-snap nor were the DL who dropped into coverage. We'll force turnovers again this year. Coverage was good. Woodard is to good to be a 6th CB. Daniels showed some skills at DB. We'll have depth even if our starting Ss aren't top quality. DT Conrath made some plays early on.
On the minus side: 3 1st quarter fumbles and 17 game penalties. Whilst Stacy and Pead didn't look bad neither stood out as a #2 RB. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Pead is no threat inside. Stacy is no threat outside. Cunningham showed more upside than either of them. The kick returner job is still vacant. Givens would be too valuable to use in that role. TE competition has been quiet. Armstrong makes highlight plays at LB but he doesn't look like a starter. None of the defensive back-ups really stood out and challenged the starters. We had chances to stop both TD runs against us. Their back-up RB was too strong for our back-up defenders. Rivers has been the only edge-rusher for us in 4 games. We dominated this game without ever being in control.
Woodard had cramp or a muscle pull late in the game. Other than that we appear to be totally healthy. Some of the those who didn't play tonight are supposedly injured - Kendricks included. Generally we're in good shape.

Except the 50 yard TD pass of course. :L Good run after the catch. Not a blown coverage.

So anyone play way on or off team? Davis, Stewart or Armstrong. Woodard (hearing good things)? Has T. Johnson (real expectations this year) really played himself to 3rd team? How about my boy Steadman? I picked his avi, did I make a mistake. Changing to Rams from Flyers this week. For those hockey fans, I like the underdog as I went with B. Schenn last year. Hoping Bailey gets a shot and does something with it!!!!!
