The list has Bedlam and Oklahoma State Texas in its top 10, but doesn't have the RRS as even an honorable mention.

I can't wrap my head around that.

3. Clemson at Notre Dame (Nov. 7)
Clemson's weak schedule finally gets a boost in the form of a tough road game at Notre Dame, a team I believe will be in contention for the College Football Playoff heading into November. Notre Dame just needs to knock off Wisconsin earlier in the season at Lambeau Field.

Ian Book is back at quarterback for Notre Dame after throwing 34 touchdowns against only six picks, and he’ll have his entire offensive line back to protect him this fall, too. The defense should once again be strong (particularly at linebacker) after holding teams to 17.9 points per game last season.

Clemson is, well, Clemson. The only weakness is the offseason loss of top receiver Justyn Ross, who may never play football again after a spinal deformity was discovered on an X-Ray. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be a frontrunner for the Heisman alongside Ohio State's Justin Fields and the Tigers' defense might be the best yet under coordinator Brent Venables. This might very well be a playoff-worthy game in the regular season.

Would have been nice to visit South Bend but that’s looking like a no

Cal versus Arizona State but no Golden Domers versus Whisky. Um, okay.

I actually think Cal will be pretty good this year. They were undefeated with their starting QB when he started and finished the game.
They also didn't beat a ranked team the entire year, and in fact they only beat one team that was over .500. Their resume was nearly identical to Indiana, and I don't see them on this list (nor should I).

They only played 2 and both were with the backup. There was a huge difference in play between the starter and backup last year. I'm not saying Cal vs ASU should be on here, but I can see Cal vs USC being a game between top 20 teams.

I think Cal is 3-2 going into that game. They were a decent team last year, but they're not one of the 20 best teams in the nation obviously. When I think of a top 20 game, I think of one that has at least some sort of national implications, and also one that most CFB fans are going to try and make sure to watch. Nobody is gonna care about either of those Cal games.

I think they could be 5-0. Sure they were decent last year, but they were 7-0 with their starting QB. Overall that made them decent. Who knows what their record is with him starting every game. They could have won 2-3 more games maybe. I think USC might be the one that is 3-2. But if they are 4-1 they'll be ranked.

They weren't beating USC or Utah with a fully healthy Garbers, and they actually scored more points against ASU with Modster than with Garbers, and Garbers went down at the end of the 2nd quarter. I think you obviously know Cal wasn't an 11-win team last year. I'm not putting much faith in a team that played only two ranked teams out of a 13 game schedule - losing 5 of those 13 games - and only beat one team over .500. Garbers was a decent QB, but he's not some elite gamechanger. On top of all that, we're still talking about a bad conference overall, so it just simply isn't a top 20 game.

Garbers was good. The point being his backup was atrocious. I think they could have been a 10/11 win team with him. Probably 10 because they wouldn't have played a team as bad as Illinois in the bowl game had they had Garbers the entire season. I can see it being a top 20 game, if those teams live up to expectations(or at least mine)

Wow super hyped for Ohio State visiting a Whiteout with Penn State, they surely could never win there! Man this article really changes my outlook for the season

the dropoff from Garbers to Modster/Brasch was huge. With Modster, they scored 17 points against an Oregon State team that was 105th in scoring. Their offense also completely stalled against Arizona State after Garbers left.

Garbers: 131/215 (60.9%), 1772 yards, 8.2 Y/A, 14/3 TD/INT, 148.9 rating
Modster: 62/122 (50.8%), 705 yards, 5.8 Y/A, 5.5 TD/INT, 104.7 rating
Brasch: 9/25 (36%), 71 yards, 2.8 Y/A, 0/1 TD/INT, 51.9 rating

60.9% isn't great in today's game, but 50.8% is just woeful. And that pales in comparison to the 36%...
