Oh tank and Rendon also went down today. Ohtani with a blister. With the season really up in the air and the probability of Trout out until September and no way of knowing about Rendon and Ohtani out for probably 2-4 weeks the Angels might consider getting what they can. Unless the Angels owner goes 10 years $650M Ohtani will say sayonara

Moreno could also double down and pick up an outfielder and pitcher at the deadline being 4 games out of the wild card race or he could unload Ohtani for a bunch of prospects and outbid everyone in November and get Ohtani back. A lot of scenarios to think about.

I agree, but on the other hand, they are going to improve either from us or from someone else, if they decide to trade him. I wouldn't do it, but the Angels are going to be improved either way.

To me they should go ahead and IL him. At least we get another arm and best case scenario for him, he is reassessed.
Maybe there’s some injury preventing him to do well. My opinion is that the is toast and we should be ready to turn the page

A quick glance at his stats, and 2023 looks like it's in line with his career numbers, except for 2022 of course. Certainly points to last year being an outlier, in my opinion.

his WHIP and AVG against are by far the worst of the starters. Even counting Cody Bradford, who is a rookie.

Is Perez a victim of the WBC? More fatigued due to the extra work? I think being skipped and then brought back as the 4th or 5th starter after the break might help him. If that doesn't work and he isn't injured, it might then be time to move him to the pen.
