does seem like it. Right now I see Arihara, Hearn, Allard & Dunning as probable starters and think they sign a FA starter(personally I think we should go Syndergaard). Of course things could change between now and the end of ST and Alexa, Otto, several others and hell even Howard could jump in.

Yep. Arihara has no future here and therefore has no business starting in front of guys who are ready to get their feet wet. Howard doesn't appear to have much of a future as a starter in the big leagues.

Next year is still a rebuilding year so the rotation and the lineup should primarily be young guys unless they sign a FA longterm.

The young guys will struggle at times, and sometimes struggle mightily, like Otto did last night. That is fine though. It is part of the learning process.

Again, to me, there is nothing magical about April as far as who is in the rotation and who starts at which position. Guys who are qualified to start now should be qualified to play then unless a longterm, really good, free agent is signed to replace them. Of course, some guys may prove in the Fall leagues that they are even more qualified.

ST more or less just shows us how guys offseason work panned out and who is healthy.

That is a sunk cost. It is money that cannot help us to eventually contend no matter if he starts or not.

This is why I never liked acquiring him in the beginning.
