well, you know how dreadfully slow i am to pick things up. (how's that for dramatic irony?)
You are correct - I predicted this outcome.

I think we are supposed to hate him - and he will be the sacrificial goat at season's end.

The Sox have promoted Noah Shultz to AA Birmingham - where the Sox minor league team is a juggernaut. Also going to Birmingham is Jacob Gonzales - last year's #1 pick. With Colson Montgomery at AAA Charlotte - and Gonzales and Brooks Baldwin both top talents playing shortstop - a sorting out needs to occur for who is going to 3rd and who is going to 2nd. Of course, Bryan Ramos is already at 3rd. As soon as Moncada is ready to return the Sox should trade him and pay his salary if they have to - in order to give these young prospects time in the MLB.

The Sox have another phenom at SS in Ryan Burrows who is playing a Kanny at 19 - Burrows is an internation signing from South America. Total package - can hit, field and run.

The 2023 draft class is doing very well as - picks 1-13 - all have moved up in class from their early assignment. George Wolclaw the 6'7" HS kid the Sox took in the 8th round - is batting nearly .400 with OPS of 1,000 (with 50% KOs) in the AZ rookie league.

Both Jared Kelley and Andrew Dalquist have been turned into AA and AAA bullpen relievers - and both have done really well in those roles.

Probably what the Sox need the most for the minor league system is more power hitters - having only Elko in AA and Wolclaw in rookie league. The Sox have a lot of guys who can hit between 20-30 hrs a year if they max their talent.

Here's a random thought: I don't think there's any chance this team comes even close to sniffing a playoff series win in the next 5 seasons.

How sad is that? 12/30 teams make the playoffs each season and I have little doubt we will not accomplish this.

Would love to argue against this take, but I can't. I just can't.
