Nobody "wins" a preseason game. Sure, the score says they do but the relevance is about a 1 or 2 on a scale to 10. I know this comment is just to open the thread and is a fact. It's just the concept of wins and losses in the preseason is so different than real games.

Whoever executes the core-est of core plays is a winner.
Whoever leaves without any serious injuries is a winner.
Players who show they can execute in that teams fundamental styles is a winner (and conversely is a loser).
Anyone who makes fundamental mistakes is a loser, and too many makes the team a loser.
Sometimes the loser is the winner because they get to nip early issues in the bud.
Sometimes winners are loser because a false confidence can build.

Pats offense looks out of synch with most starters out there. This will not do.

Looking like we're going to have to rely on the D for some wins this year.

The Defense looked great. 1st 2nd 3rd string. Offense is just going to take awhile to click. It's a new scheme. For some of these guys it's their 3rd in 3 years. That's alot to take in. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.

I'm really impressed with Lil Jordan Humphrey. He's played great both games.

I think he may have earned a spot on the 53 with today's performance. Would be hard to leave him off it.

The defense is fast and hits. They pretty much shut down the Panthers all around. Bill and the staff will agonize over cutting any of them.

The offense, especially the starters need to play at least a full half next week. It took them three series to begin to look like they were even ready to start playing. Then the rotation started and most of them were spectators. Zappe had a rough start, just like last week.. Maybe BB should start him against the Raiders for the first quarter, bring in Mac for the second and third and let Hoyer finish. Unless it's a shootout and the offense is really clicking.

There's a two week break after next week. Hopefully it's not too long.

Our defense allowed 3 points. Even as much as we are excited about our defense, they are fast and under-rated.
Underated is just where I want to start our regular season!

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Patriots rookie WR Tyquan Thornton suffered a collarbone injury Friday night against the Panthers.

Thornton was ruled out with a "shoulder" injury late in Friday's game. Rapoport's tweet was oddly cryptic, but it sounds like the rookie is dealing with a broken collarbone. Rapoport added the injury is not believed to be season-ending, but reading between the lines it sounds like Thornton will miss the start of the season. It is a tough blow for a player NBC Sports Boston's Tom Curran called the "biggest surprise" of Patriots camp

Tyquan will be placed on the IR list and will miss at least the first eight games. He'll be fed high grade calcium and bulk protein and hoprfully put on 10-15 lbs.

Kristian Wilkerson may also be put on the same list with a concussion.

That opens two spots immediately for Tre Nixon and Lil'Humprhey Jordan. If these two guys break out, Thorton and Wilkerson could spend the rest of the year on IR and both could bilk up a bit.

Right now, Kendrick Bourne appears to be on the proverbial bubble.

It takes a lot more than good showing in preseason games. What he's doing in practices weights a lot more. Every year there are guys who light it up the the "games" then don't make the team. I always love throwing out Zach Sudfield from 6 or 7 years ago who looked like a second head for a 2 headed Gronk monster then was sent to the ps, taken from there by the Jets, never to be heard from again.

How'd Mayfield and Darnold look? Yes the defense looked good but the Panthers weren't trying their best.

At his age he can have a "green break" of his collarbone. Bones for young men are very flexible.
Kind of an "almost break?"

How have they played against the Patriots in the past? Good reason that they weren't playing against them last night.
