Anthony Banda is getting the start for the Dbacks today. He is one half of the return in the Parra trade. He pitch lights out in his 3 starts in South Bend(A+) after the trade. 21 year old kid with decent stuff and a work in progress curveball.

Banda has looked decent through 4 innings. He was hit hard in the 1st & 2nd but managed to get out of the innings. His change-up looks good. Keep in mind he is pitching against a minor league lineup.

Dbacks have it nice... spring training basically at home, exhibition games at home, sleep at home, rest a day then start the real thing. Cubs.. have to fly tonight and start for real at home tomorrow, skip a day and then play the next two.

So is Brandon Drury going to the minors? Thought he did really good during preseason. I see him on the active 40 man roster with an * but can't see if he is hurt or what.

Dammit, I missed the game.

Drury is only 22 & Owings is manning 2nd this season. It makes no sense to have him on the 25 man roster to sit on the bench at his age. Since he has only played 29 games above A+ ball, it it better to send him to Mobile/Reno for experience. He needs everyday ABs at his age for his progress.


I am still waiting on the final roster being set. IE Tomas/Pacheco/Laird

They played against a AA lineup & only played our regular starters 1 or 2 ABs. Banda was our starter...

Didn't miss much.. for real starts Monday. but, the Dbacks are currently in 1st place!!! along with all the other teams.
