Bad news is the M's have fallen .5 out of the 2nd wild card spot. The good news is they can only gain ground tommorrow with Det-KC playing each other. Cant lose ground tommorrow so just go win

Right now it could just as easily be KC in the Central and Seattle and Detroit for the 2 WC spots leaving Oakland at home.

Important note on KC. They still have to finish a game that was suspended Aug 31 where they were trailing 4-2 in the 10th. Pretty good chance they have an extra loss coming

Good point. So for all intents and purposes, we're tied with them right now.

We kid about rather playing on the road because of having much better success away from Safeco. However a game playoff in Safeco would be so awesome for the city.

I think it would go a long way in changing the way the city perceives baseball. There hasn't been buzz about the Mariners in over 10 years. As seen with the Seahawks, give this city a winner and the casuals will jump on the bandwagon.

Despite losing 3 of the last 4, we have actually gained half a game on the A's during that span as they lost again today. We currently trail Detroit by 0.5 games and KC and Oakland by 1.5 games.

Things are getting tight now. The Tigers and A's are half a game ahead of the Royals and Mariners. I wouldnt mind the Angels to keep winning so the last 3 game series could result in them resting some guys and setting up their rotation for the playoffs.

I agree that it might be beneficial for us for them to keep winning so they don't have to play their best starters. We might be able to get a game or two against LAA in that situation.

Texas is taking care of Oakland 7-2 in the 7th and the Angels scratched Weaver after clinching last night. So we get Felix against a lesser starter tonight with Oakland probably losing.

This late in the season, this is close to a must win with this scenario. Gotta hit the ball fellas

I believe Angels have most of their starters not playing tonight as well, I'm sure Oakland, Detroit and KC appreciate that. With that being said, I believe it will be 1-1 going into the 8th tonight

WC standings going into Friday:

KC 83-68 +0.5 games
OAK 83-69 --
SEA 82-70 1.0

I mention this because something to keep in mind is that KC is making up a suspended game against Cleveland Monday. The game is in the 10th inning and KC is losing 4-2. Unless they pull that win out of their asses, we actually have an additional 1/2 game on KC as it will stand when they finish that game.

This race is close!

Ideally, I want Seattle and KC to take the WC spots and the A's to go home after such a great season early on. It would be hilarious.
