Marty had a shutout last night. Only 16 SOGs but still. Saw some interviews the STL folks cant believe how well he plays the puck.

This was a huge asset of his and one that anybody who called him overrated obviously overlooked. His ability of playing the puck changed rules, added lines to the ice, and changed opposing team's game plans. He also saved his defensemen hundreds of collisions behind the net and in defensive zone.

Not surprised STL folks are surprised at him playing the puck. Most fans around the league are in same boat. Only like true fans in Canada that live and breathe hockey realized how good he was at playing the puck.

I've heard more than 1 D man over the years (especially) Dano say playing with him prolonged their career he played the puck so well they didn't get hammered the way they did otherwise.

Hell they changed the rules (stupid effing trapezoid) because of him
