So true getting Liriano to start at home is great because we all know if they win the play in game they will be on the road after that.

lets hope stl passes atl for the top seed, then we get them in the second round after liriano cleans up.

just trying to figure out pitching and whether we skip cole tomorrow.
could hold cole for quick relief of liriano on tues but would be a foreign spot for cole.
might be better to use the regular relievers as they all get some rest tomorrow and monday.

espn is reporting the Cumpton will get the start.. which is fine with me... let Locke come in and finish up the game no matter the score.

i would start cumpton and give him a shot for the 5 spot next year. locke has a lot of work to do on the offseason. one start isnt going to help. let him mop up from the pen today if we are saving our pen for the playoffs and leaving locke off the playoff roster(unless we think we need another spot lefty to get choo, votto, bruce and locke wont walk them.

The Doobster still remembers 1990, even before the Braves crushed the Doobster's dreams of seeing the Pirates win the World Series, I recall the Reds giving me my first taste of playoff disappointment. Kind of interesting that the Pirates won the World Series the year before the Doobster was born, but they haven't won since. Hate to think that the Doobster is responsible for all the Pirates' woes.

Usually the Doobster spends this time of the year getting ready for Penguin hockey, but I haven't seen the Pirates play in the post season since before I was a teenager. Sorry Pens, you know I love you more than anything else in the world, but the Pirates playing in the playoffs happens about as often as Halley's Comet I believe. Can't miss a single second of this.
