It's over! Glad to see it finally end. Tomorrow might be just as great with 82!

Why do you say that when Grilli comes back you do not touch Melancon as closer? Does that mean you do not want to see Hurdle move people around? As good as Grilli as all season long it is pretty hard not to at least think about putting him back into that role if he is 100%

Don't think there's a wrong choice when choosing between Shark and Grilli for closer. That being said, if they are both healthy, I think I might go with Grilli simply because I think he has better swing and miss stuff, and getting strikeouts is very helpful when you're the closer.

Snider with the game winner, wow that was out of nowhere, we need more random people on the bench chipping in the rest of the year.

I'd start him in the setup position, maybe platoon him with Melancon in less critical save situations (2-3 run leads) for a while and then make the determination later.

grilli takes the 7th and builds a track record to move to 8th and 9th. if he shines, he resumes his role.
it seemed as tho he was slipping in the last month before he went disabled. was it the beginning of the injury, or grilli just returning to grilli after an amazing start. his ERA, WHIP, AVE all increased after april and regularly.

melancon on the other hand has been pretty consistently the same pitcher every month. doesnt walk anyone, lots of groundballs, and still gets K's.

hopefully grilli comes back to early, early season form, but late june and july form wasnt close to melancon.

I just want to make sure at first that Grilli is 100%.. So the first fe appearances would be in non save low pressure situations.. look at velocity and location.. and then if he is 100% and healthy... revisit the topic in 2 weeks..

They moved Morneau to cleanup and Alvarez to the 6hole, I'm betting this is permanent.

Is it just me or do the Bucs always seem to get hammered every time they have a chance to sweep?

Well they had a few chances to get back into it.

Anyway hitting Morneau was just plain stupid but I bet he didn't realize McCutchen lost it in the lights.

I'm pretty sure this is what happened...

Anywho, it's weird to see yall whoop up on us this year for once haha! I'm rooting for yall to hold off the shitbirds.

Thanks....yeah beating the Cards or Reds for the division will be great.

As for hitting Morneau not only did he probably not realize McCutchen lost it in the lights he probably turned away and when he turned back still saw McCutchen at home. I don't blame him for being upset but winning by that much at that time it was not smart it almost gave the Pirates the momentum to get back in it. I think Morneau getting thrown out at home killed it.
