After Practice 1, it looked mostly like last week with Rosberg taking P-1 followed by Hamilton and Button. Whoa! Button makes the top three. After Practice 2, things got all shaken up and Hamilton took the top spot followed by Magnussen (ver Magnussen from World's Strongest Men) and Alonso finished in the third spot. This race is getting interesting.

I don't know if Bottas can keep that pace and hold onto that car for the full race distance.

Although, I kind of would like to see Kvyat get up there, that Toro Rosso is just abysmal.

Missed qualifying. Have yet to really see this track. Looking forward to watching the race tomorrow morning!

Looks like they finished as they qualified: Hamilton, Rosberg, Bottas. Nice race in a pretty plush venue with Putin looking on.

I think it's pretty clear that Rosberg is cracking under the pressure, but still what an epic drive by Nico. Changed tires after lap 1 and rode the next set through to a second place without the need to change tires again.

Yea, forty three. That smooth new surface in Ruskie land contributed to a lot of teams not changing tires all that often.

Just goes to show the dominance of Mercedes this season. I believe Hamilton made the podium in a race earlier this season after starting from pit row.


I wonder how smooth the track will be these next few years. It doesn't look like it's a permanent course. I wonder if they'll be resurfacing it every year.

Yes he did.

And not aided by only changing tires once.

He's come through the field a couple of times this year.

Once Bottas backed off on Sunday, Lewis knew the race was his if he made the end of it. So he wasn't pushing overly hard.

Sorry, folks: I've been dealing with some personal issues that have kept me away from "the Hoop" - & kept me from watching the GP (How was the track - any good?)

Looks like you each picked up 8 points for picking Hamilton & Rosberg, so the season totals are:

Feel free to do the tally yourselves if I miss any more GPs. - Once again, its 5 points for correctly picking the winner, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd & 1 for getting someone on the podium, but on a different step than you predicted.
