did you see jvett say that Rupp and Knapp will combine for 30 homers this year?
The statement was confirmed as retarded when you made it back in DecemberConfirmed. 8 games in.

Come on man, are you actually suggesting there was a time when they could have gotten something for Rupp? I think he's a decent catcher and he's fine until someone better comes up but I don't think teams were ever inquiring about him
probably....I think he might be a racistDid Duda think Neris was Ramos?
Yeah I agree you can't be afraid to make moves, even (or especially) when someone is doing well. And I also agree that some people have overvalued Rupp. I just don't think it's a great idea to trade your starting catcher willy-nilly in the middle of the season for a relief pitcher. I also believe Alfaro will be given every opportunity to win the starting catcher's job if he is good enough (i.e. I don't think Rupp will end up blocking him).he was hitting .287/9 homers/.836 ops at the break last year. that's when, as an org, you laugh and say "anyone? anyone want him?" because you know it's a joke. that's also when.. foolish (to be nice) fans are like "oh my god, we found a future all-star!"
they could have at least netted a respectable, young reliever. would you rather have knapp starting/alfaro soon to join and a possible solid 7th inning type guy under control for years.. or would you rather have rupp starting until it's time to say "bye" and he's just dismissed?
these are moves everyone wants to laugh and talk shit about, but you HAVE TO MAKE THEM. the odds of finding.. lets say a ryan madson type reliever, are much greater compared to cam rupp tearing it up for another 2+ years.
Nice! We've finally bottomed out!3-5, same record thru 8 games as last year
