Welcome back, Chooch!

Who are you going to find though that is any better, without breaking the bank even more? Salty is not as good as Chooch, McCann will get too much money and the other catchers on the FA market are trash - Chooch is not the problem with this team, he's still great with the pitchers and he is a clutch hitter - I have no problem with this - and the Phillies will have more money to spend anyways with the new TV deal of their own so it shouldn't cripple this team
Are you trying to say this is a good thing...
The old "who would you get that's better" post.
Awful argument. Molina for league minimum until a better option appears. They were below .500 with Ruiz. They will be below .500 next year AND paying Ruiz nearly double what he earned this season. Shit signing. Shitty plan. Does not make the team better. It only limits their options even more and makes the team older for even longer.
That wasn't Carlos Ruiz's fault - so by that theory, they should get rid of every player because they were under .500? Do you realize how fucking shitty the rotation was and the bullpen was? That's not a Carlos Ruiz problem, that is a lack of talent/inexperienced problem - Carlos Ruiz has been a good player for years, no different than he was 2 or 3 years ago when this team won 102 games - so now all of a sudden he's a problem just because they lost 89 games? Chooch was one of the best hitters on this team the last 2 months of the season - the contract is not perfect but at some point, all the bitching isn't going to get anybody anywhere - it is what it is at this point
Yes. Yes I am.
Here's an example of one of those ridiculous fans I was just mentioning.
You do not sign a 35 year old catcher, that will not make or break the season, to a multi-year contract. This shit isn't hard to understand. They have a bloated payroll and now Ruiz is part of that problem. They have NO flexibility. Having an infield filled with overpriced, middle aged, injury prone players is a shitty plan. They actively sought out this plan. Ruiz is part of the problem.
They should have signed a vet like Molina to a league minimum one year contract. But, no. They decided to take the retarded direction and fans defend it.

How do you know they have NO flexibility? That TV contract they're going to sign is an inevitability, they will have more money to spend and whether they spend it right or not is not the debate, it's the simple fact that as long as they have plenty of money, they will go after the biggest FA's/trade chips out there
You seem to have this all backwards.
concentrate on not being stupid.
