So you pull your starter who is dominating after 68 pitches because...?

Guess he wanted to see what the bullpen was capable of with a 5 run lead.

Seriously how do you pull your ace who is throwing a low base runner shutout at 68 pitches and no signs of trouble in the season opener?

the fuck happened here. i was at the bar, everything looked in the bag, gave Nola an earlier hook than i thought was deserved and think the next guy up made him pay for it. either way, still had like a 3 run lead. wind up at the place I'm eating dinner and eventually see they blew the game. fucking terrible.

I will concede that we have finally turned the corner to being a consistent winner when we stop losing opening day games. This has been like the fifth-straight year we have lost our opener. We might win 80-90 games this year, but until we take care of the little stuff that translates into a winning attitude, like being sharp, prepared, and winning our openers by not doing ridiculously stupid stuff (see posts above), we are essentially the repackaged dildoes every freakin' YEAR!!

Spot on jvett. Futzin' around with a sure winner on opening day is just plain stupid and doesn't foster an environment set by a manager who is remotely interested in winning. Sure it's a long season but it is the little things that build the foundation of an organization who wants to win. The Phillies appear to be more interested in being the dildoes then consistent winners that are attached to their league name!

Just one game. No need to panic. New manager needs seasoning, we must be patient!

I'm more puzzled than mad.

Seems like Kapler is going to go through some of the same pitfalls that Doug Pederson went through with the Eagles. Trusts some numbers, like Odubel's splits against Teheran and Nola's third time through the order, seemingly doesn't know Neris' numbers against Freeman and Markakis (or he's more scared of Freeman than he trusts Nola).

He'll figure it out.

Pivetta starts tonight. Kingery at 3rd, Herrera in center. Knapp starting again. GO PHILLIES!

Don't know wether to watch sixers sans Embiid against a shit team or Phillies. If I trusted myblapmy to not freeze using different media, I'd do both.
