Ryno let this one get away. Hamels had a high pitch count and he still left him in. Doesn't he know that the bull pen has been solid lately? Hamels should not have pitched in the 8th!

When Hamels walked Carpenter and then hit Molina, that should have been a red flag that Hamels was done. The pitch count was 108 and it was all downhill from there.

If we had Sizemore we could have scored more runs! Now Amaro can sign Ibanez and Rickey Henderson. Then our outfield would lead us to the world series!

Tough loss. Vicodin eases the pain though

I think Byrd could play fullback in the NFL. That dude has some speed for a bowling ball build.

Byrd actually played football in high school. And he was a running back. He redirected himself to baseball after a major leg injury in college.

No shame in losing to the 2014 25-game winner.

I doubt he gets that high, but what hurts is that we were tied going into the bottom of the 8th and Ryno mismanaged his bullpen. That was a winnable game. Oh well, it would have been hard to win out for the rest of the season anyway. Let's start the streak over today. Kendrick has been pitching well lately.

It's interesting to think about who has had a better career, Hamels or Wainwright. I gave Waino the slight edge but it should be noted that Hamels has pitched over 250 more innings, despite coming into the league a year after Wainwright (granted- Wainwright was in the bullpen in '06- but he did miss all of '11 and I think that should factor into the decision).

Interesting lineup today

Revere
Rollins
Utley
Howard
Mayberry
Brown
Asche
Rupp
Kendrick

The opposing pitcher is a 22 year old with only one career start-so obviously I expect the Phils to make him look like the next Cy Young

with this lineup, it'll be very possible. mayberry batting 5th (byrd getting the day off??) and .160 iron pig rupp, this is not good. hopefully they prove me wrong.

Did Rollins wake up late today and forget to shave his beard? I mean I know he's always had a moustache and some chin hair, but are his sideburns so black that I've never noticed them in the 8+ years I've been watching the Phillies because they fade into his black skin? Is that racist? So many questions... so many questions.
