Let's score more goals than the Rangers today. That'd be good.

We got lazy on D versus the bolts and our shots on goal were available but we appeared off in putting the puck in the net. So many opportunities squandered. Perhaps the team was a bit tired from the western swing, IDK.

Not sure I like going with Emery. He got his time yesterday, why bring him out in a 4 point game?

IDK flyersfan. The announcers on my broadcast with the Bolts game were extensively extolling the positive attributes of Emery stating that he was one of the many factors in the Blackhawks resurgence last year and that they would love for the Bolts somehow to work a deal with the Flyers to get him. I found the conversation odd but it also reflected what others in the league are now recognizing that the Flyers now have to legit excellent net-tenders that we have not had it very long time. This I found to be a very nice surprise.

I just don't see it with him anymore. He may have been really good last year, but this year he just seems so amazingly slow. I'm fine with him being our backup this year, but in a huge game like we have tonight I'd just prefer Mason. Berube has proven me wrong before when he started Emery against the Penguins.

You might be right and perhaps he is reading too many of the headlines and falling in love with them.

Not very surprised, quite frankly - he's been awful lately

I like the accountability. Too bad Rosehill is the replacement

Hopefully Matt Read gets back soon, so that it will knock one of those guys out of the lineup

It's tough to argue the way in which Berube runs this team and yes, Rosehill is pretty useless. We could use Read back and healthy, but even without him, there are easily 6-7 serious scoring threats on this team. That's still more than enough offense to win on most nights if we get even just our average goaltending/defense. Half of the teams in the Nhl would love to have that kind of depth offensively. The Rags are one of them.

To me, the first fifteen games of the season are the only reason why stats like our goals scored, goal differential and even power play still look very average. Despite the fact that we've been scoring at our regular pace ever since, the offensive slump was really just that terrible.

To further demonstrate this, since the beginning of December, our power play has been humming along at 21.4% and even when they don't score, they've looked very dangerous. That average would put us 6th overall in the Nhl. Instead, we're 17th right now.

Again, since the beginning of December, we've been scoring at a rate of 3.32 goals per game. No eastern conference team has been scoring that often this season. Only Chicago, St. Louis and Anaheim have managed better, yet we again find ourselves 17th in offense. I think we can do even better than 3.32 per game ultimately, but injuries combined with the inability to have all three scoring lines hot at the exact same time are preventing this.
