Pens are coming off a 3-0 week, where they knocked off the Lightning, Avalanche, & Panthers.

This week we got,

Monday, December 22 @ Florida Panthers

Tuesday, December 23 @ Tampa Bay Lightning

Saturday, December 27 vs Washington Capitals

2 of the 3 teams we're facing this week will be looking for revenge from last week while the other team is one of our most heated rivals. Should be a challenging week for the Pens.

This season: Pens lead series 1-0-0

Doob's take: Pens played the Panthers real well last time around, but it should be tougher at their place. Not sure if MAF is going in this one but if he's not we really have our work cut out for us. Nice to see Derrick Pouliot score a goal in his first game. Doob picks the Pens to win 3-2.

Might have a little continuation of the "chippyness" from the last game. Just hope that Downie keeps it under control this time. He kind of lost it the last game.

I thought that the absolutely bizarre officiating kept the game a little closer than it should have been. I don't think I've ever seen a referee stop play to check and see if the shot went in. That may have cost the Pens a goal right there. The diving call on Malkin was pretty strange too.

I'm not going to take the Panthers lightly. Pens haven't shown me much in home & home sets this season.

Last season: Pens won series 3-0-0
This season: Pens lead series 1-0-0
Last meeting: 12-15-2014 @ CONSOL Energy Center, Pens won 4-2

Doob's take: Pens are coming off a 14 round shootout game against the Panthers last night, so I could see them being tired for this one. Still tho, they have been able to overcome adversity and get some wins against the Lightning as of late. Pens have won 10 straight games against the Bolts, so we sort of got their number. On top of that, the Lightning have been struggling as of late. Doob picks the Pens to prevail by a score of 3-2.

Lets hope he can take the step up that Gogo didn't.

Gogo was a good player, solid #2/#3 and pp qb, not sure what everyone's expectations are for Pouliot but that would be a pretty good outcome, IMO.

Of course, we're two games in, so nothing is set in stone.

I've been really impressed with Harrington, much more so than Doumolin. Harrington plays with more confidence, he was captain on the Canadian Junior team, so I would assume that is for a reason.

Harrington has looked pretty good so far. Same with Pouliot. Doumolin plays very soft for a guy his size. I remember this being a knock on him as a prospect. It has carried over it seems.

Watching all three of them in the lineup at the same time was pretty exciting. Their value will go up if they continue to perform like they have. Maybe JR can pull the trigger on someone, because there will be a logjam when Bortuzzo, Martin and Ehrhoff get healthy.

Derrick Pouliot should be Kris Letang one day IMO. If he falls short of that, he'll be a bust.
