Not sure this team is built for the base defense they're running. The interior is getting overwhelmed and the DEs are very weak against the run. Not sure how you fix it without losing edge rushing ability. They're getting smoked up the gut and they can't set the edge to save their lives (pretty horrid situation). They're masking it with an occasional safety blitz, but if they don't fix it, they're gonna be in serious trouble later in the year.

Maybe if they go to a 3-4 hybrid and move Ninko to OLB, Jones to hybrid end and pray Wilfork can function decently as a 2gap NT again (not sure).

This base defense is pretty sad as currently constituted, because they get no push in the middle and the ends are all over the place. The OLBs and Safeties are getting washed out on the perimeter. Hope they figure it out quick.

Not surprised. It's a division game. They aren't usually very easy, no matter what the records are. Happy with the win and hope they get some players healthier with a longer rest before the next game.
