McDowell and Dubuisson take down Mickelson and Bradley 3&2 - Europe takes the afternoon session 3 1/2 points to 1/2 point for the US. Overall, Europe leads 5 to 3 after day 1.

Missed all of the afternoon golf (stupid work and time zones!!!), but I wish we would have seen Speith and Reed in the mix.

I just heard on the radio that Speith and Reed said something post-match about "killing the Poulter magic" or "the Poulter aura is no more" and Tom Watson didn't like it and that could be the reason those guys didn't play in the afternoon.

Oooo, the mo' is turning the Americans way right now. Has been over the last 40 minutes or so and American finally taking advantage after some near hole wins.

Bubba/Kuch have been very strong this morning, birdies on almost every hole and only some great putting from Justin Rose is keeping it close.

Fowler and Walker just tied it up through five with Walker with a tap-in for birdie and both Rory and Poulter would have unlikely made bogey on that hole.

Furyk playing great and Mahan providing some spectacular shots.

Speith and Reed just tied it up as well.

It's gone from Euros up in 2, AS in one, and US up in one to 2 AS and US up in 2. Loving it!

Wow - Fowler has struggle to make putts all day and hits a 35-footer to halve the hole after Rory's birdie.

Reed and Spieth continue to impress. But Bjorn chips in to save a hole halve after Reed's wedge to a foot.

Ryder Cup... it's so good.

Justin Rose has been unstoppable today.

It's going to come down to the last group as the swing match I think.

McIlory has been great (Poulter has done nothing today), but Fowler and Walker hanging in and having their moments.

Watson should leave the pairings the same for the afternoon, but sub in Bradley and Mickelson for Fowler and Walker (who are playing well but not making the putts).

Honestly, I'd love to see Fowler and Bradley as well with as bad as Keegan and Phil have been off the tee, but I'm sure that won't happen.

Fowler with a big putt there - last match all square going into the final hole.

I like that Watson is basically keeping the teams together this afternoon except giving Bubba a rest and subbing in Zach Johnson. The Americans played great this morning.

10 - 6 Europe after day 2. Where's Ben Crenshaw when you really need him?

I missed the afternoon pairings. Man the US really fell apart down the stretch. That sucks.

I think the Americans go 7-5, but it won't be enough.

No American rally today and Europe retains the Ryder Cup.

Holy doodle, Phil throws Tom Watson under the bus and then gets in the driver's seat and backs up the bus over Tom.

Phil Mickelson, Tom Watson feud in extremely awkward team USA Ryder Cup press conference - SBNation.com

That was kind of awesome. I can't say Watson had a great approach this week since what lost the Cup was basically the afternoon foursomes. US lost those 7-1, but won the four ball and singles combined.

It seems like he benched players when he should have kept them out and kept them out when he should have benched them. It's easy to second guess though, but it does appear the communication wasn't good and Phil is usually pretty reserved, so I think you have to take it pretty seriously when he is so openly critical.

Another disappointing Ryder Cup in the results, though the golf was extraordinary. Spieth and Reed were unreal - kudos to them. I personally enjoyed Reed the most - his fire and passion. There are a few guys who I thought were FAR too collegial on the course. Bubba comes to mind. I'm not saying you have to be a jerk, but show a little fire.
