The Phillies face the Mets for the first time this year. It's time for the Phillies to get a winning streak going so they can distance themselves from the basement and move closer to Atlanta. For that to happen Brown needs to get excited to support the solid core.

Can we be beat these five turkeys?

It makes me wonder if maybe the Phillies need 2 or 3 hitting coaches.

At this point jvett, everyone knows where the cancer lies and until the owner or somebody in the FO gets it and excises the cancer, this team has little if any future and personnel are here primarily to take that TV money and that is about it.

Retro, we can't do any chemo at this point. Cy Wheeler was on last night and maybe this was one of those losses that was destined to be. I still think the Phillies have something that we won't see (a good run) unless the blanks in the lineup - brown and asche (or substitutes like ruf) make a full contribution. That can happen but I hope it's before the Phillies are 15 games under .500.

Well, we are marching rather quickly toward the 15 games under .500 and they haven't addressed the inconsistent offense and pitching problems yet. So I think we will achieve that mark for sure.

I agree! Having guys like Gwnn on the roster is a head scratcher. He can't hit. He is 2 for 18 as a pinch hitter. Brown is also hurting us as well. Yet they refuse to throw Ruf in the mix. Why not start him for the next 2 weeks and see what he can add to the offense. Not just against lefties either since he hits better against right handed pitching. Pitching is not easy to solve other than bringing up guys from the minors. However it's nice to see Adams returning to form.

Well you know northeast, that when the obvious is available, numbnuts isn't going to recognize it and apparently neither is Sandberg. Numbnuts will be totally oblivious and then he'll do the opposite or something so stupid it is a wonder Phillies fans have any scalp left from all that head scratching.

Up by one after 4. Yep jvett, we all have hdd our hopes bolstered in one game only to have it trashed in the subsquent four or five games. I am just going to go with one game at a time and leave the rest.
