Ugghhhhh

If that kind of brain dead stuff doesn't get Buck +/or Hefner or Eppler fired....NOTHING WILL.

Earth to Steve Cohen. Your investment is slowly turning into hot garbage.

Imagine if Cohen let some idiots run his finance company the way he lets Eppler, Buck and company run the Mets.
Would he be so complacent?...who is ultimately accountable here?

Nothing like stealing defeat from the jaws of victory.

It's become beyond embarrassing...not to mention totally unacceptable.

Mets drop the opener 2-1....and are now 8 games below .500, in 4th place..(35-43)...16 games back in the NL east.
Lineup could only muster 3 hits. Verlander lasted just 5 innings...(on 100 pitches)
Drew Smith (in his 1st outing since coming off suspension) relieved Verlander and surrendered a 2 out 2 run HR in the 6th.

Trainer's Room...
Mets: RHP José Quintana (left rib), who threw four innings Sunday in his third rehab start for Class A Brooklyn, will make at least one more minor league appearance before a likely call up after the All-Star Break.

Up Next...

The Mets are planning to recall LHP David Peterson (1-6, 8.07 ERA) to make a spot start Tuesday. Peterson is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in six starts for Triple-A Syracuse since being demoted on May 16. Brewers RHP Julio Teheran (2-2, 1.54 ERA) has given up just 23 hits over 35 1/3 innings in his first six starts for Milwaukee.

Mets fail to get on track in a 5-2 loss.

They fell flat after Steve Cohen's pre game press conference.
The team just can't seem to get out of their own way no matter what.
Lackluster and inconsistent play, with zero urgency up and down the lineup...and thru the bullpen.

Up next...

The teams close out the four-game series Thursday night, when Mets RHP Max Scherzer (7-2, 3.94 ERA) opposes Adrian Houser (2-2, 4.03). Scherzer has allowed three runs over 14 innings in winning his last two starts. Houser will be making his first start since June 9.
