Ugghhh..... where's that rain when you really need it?

Milone loads the bases, walks in a run, gives up a grand slam, and a 2 run HR all in the 1st inning.
He also gave up a solo shot in the 2nd.

It's now 8-0 Angels...and TC yanks him.... Montero now pitching.

Nice to see that Mets momentum is still firmly intact.

Oh well...mets comeback attempt gets thwarted in the 7th....

The very overworked & fatigued Hansel Robles gives up a 2 out, 3 run HR.

And of course he then strikes out Trout.
Should've walked Simmons to get to that scrub....:D

12-5 Angels.

:gaah:
That's 12 ER allowed in 2 1/3 innings for Robles in his last 3 appearances. His ERA has gone from 1.42 to 6.33 in that span.

This is the 4th game the Mets have allowed 10 or more runs, and the 18th game of allowing 6 or more. Unbelievable!!!

:tsk:

Well, at least they finally won another series.

Before that home run, Bruce had been on a horrible cold streak. Jose was finally hitting again but then he was scratched with a boo-boo yesterday. Duda is back but he's a very streaky hitter, too. Cespedes is not the kind of guy to immediately make the entire line-up better just by coming back.

Without Familia I don't have much hope that we're going to finish above .500 for the year. The pitching and offense have both been too inconsistent. Again, the two brightest spots are Wheeler and Conforto.

Flores & TJ Rivera need some props too....and even Reed to a certain degree.

No arguments. Reed, I believe, is doing his best but he's just not closer material. He seems perfectly suited to be a set-up man.

Agreed...but unfortunately he's their only reliable option right now.

I would like nothing more than to see him get more closing chances.
Which of course would mean getting to the 9th inning with a lead.

Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera (sprained left thumb) will begin a minor league rehab assignment tonight with Double-A Binghamton, the team announced. He has a slash line of .257/.339/.381 this season with three home runs and 14 RBIs. He could return to the big club in less than a week barring any setbacks.

Holy shit...is anyone watching this???

Mets put up 7 runs in the 1st.
There's gotta be rain on the way amirite??
If there isn't bad weather coming then they might want to save some of those runs for the later innings.
:heh:

Conforto has half of the cycle in the 1st inning...lead off banger, and a 2out, 2run single.
Duda had a 2 ribeye double.
7-0, amazin's...end of 1.
