So the narrative on the Mets up until a few days ago when they signed JD Martinez is that they were punting on 2024 and looking to make bigger strides in 2025 when some of their top prospects would be ready for the big show. But now that they did sign JD Martinez, i wish they would also take a low risk money wise chance on pitcher Trevor Bauer to add to the rotation. If Bauer is any good, great, if not, cut him. Its low risk for the chance of high reward. And if Bauer and Martinez both click, then maybe the Mets are hovering around .500 at the All Star break and can make some moves to aid a wildcard run. Anyway , im trying to be realistic, a few days ago i saw the Mets battling for 4th in the division, now i'm somewhat hopeful for wildcard chance.

I hope we'll all be pleasantly surprised...and I believe we will be a few months into the season and throughout.
My number 1 concern as usual will be the overall health of the team...and having reliable depth ready and available to step in when needed.
It's a long season...and I think Steve Cohen and David Stearns will do everything they can to ensure they stay competitive and in the hunt for postseason play. Things are gonna be interesting to say the least...especially with a new manager at the helm.
