Offensive linemen are at a disadvantage in recent years in part because units get very little real game experience prior to the regular season and being girthy fatasses only got them so far. It makes sense to be more lenient with the threshold of o-linemen holding penalties in the spirit of not letting one side of the trenches be too dominant over the other. It's not necessarily about facilitating higher scoring affairs or "scripting" - whatever that means.

Just like in baseball, even if the respective powers that be argue to the contrary, it's been generally agreed that lots of scoring draws more fans and viewers than do low scoring games. But the other big factor is the NFL's ever expanding mission of protecting players from serious injuries, and this in particular favors QBs and receivers.

Holding could be called on every single play

They were getting too flag happy with the holding calls.

There is always going to be some grabbing and tugging on every play and you just need to flag the holds that have a noticeable and direct impact on the outcome of a play.

Offensive line holding is like pass interference in that you have to have that balance between throwing the flag and letting guys play.

Look at the past 5+ drafts. Look at the stud defensive line and LBs coming out vs the Olineman. I’m guessed my maybe 3:1?
