Just thought maybe we'd want to talk NFL draft in here.

Not looking good on some sites as to the chances of Huskers going. 43 years in a row at least 3 Huskers have been selected in the draft. Right now, an ESPN Scouts inc prediction only has Stafford getting selected in the 7th round. Of course this website also didn't predict Frederick getting picked until the 3rd round and he went at the end of the first. But that just goes to show you how you never really know how an NFL team is going to rank these players.

I can't even fathom a team not selecting Burkhead. It just seems like a no brainer to me.

If Nebraska gets to 3 players this year that hope probably resides in Maher.

I think the guy that's getting the short end of the straw is Steinkuhler, if he hadn't gotten hurt against Iowa, I could have seen him going in this draft.

So what say the rest of you?

I agree with what you're saying. I do think Burkhead gets drafted and that there's an outside chance that Daimion Stafford gets selected. But if we're looking at three players they're all going to go within the 5-7 rounds IMO. Baker would have been a 4-5 round pick if he hadn't torn his ACL.

Fox has Maher, Martin, and Stafford going 6th or 7th (can't remember).

No Burkhead.

I've been saying for a couple years now that Burkhead was merely a serviceable back. Great character, heart, effort, and toughness, but not one to make people miss or break away.

Would make a good fullback if he could handle the weight.

wow, it's hard to find a list you can just copy and paste into this website.

I can't help be sorry for Jets fans. They've got 2 first round picks and they take a CB that's not the highest rated and they take a DT at a position that they didn't really have a need at.

Don't sweat Rex getting drafted. He will go about 5th round, 4th at best. Cotton should get drafted as well as Maher but expecting kickers to get drafted is shaky. Stafford may get drafted but I just don't see him sticking.

I also would not be surprised to see Eric Martin get drafted and Kyler Reed has an outside chance but not likely.

Rex is better than Danny. Danny can't be an every down back. Rex can. I see Rex as a Jacob Hester/Mike Tolbert type. He can fill in nicely as a 3rd down/goal line/injury replacement guy. Ultimately for a long term situation teams want someone with break away speed. He doesn't have that. Depending on the team, he could stick for 3-5 years but not anything huge.

Yeah. I don't mean to imply Rex can't contribute. He's just doesn't fit the mold of a feature back.

I think someone will take a chance on him for the reasons Jed stated, just not as high as Jed feels.

Mid 6th IMO.

RA, you and I have been saying the same thing about Rex for a long time. Off the field = GREAT guy!!! Doesn't mean he is a great RB.

I would love for my Packers to take a shot a Eric Martin and Rex for sure.

Packers would be a GREAT fit for Rex!!! Can catch the ball out of the backfield, they don't ask for a ton out if their running game. Plus they need RB bodies!!!

I would love Rex in dallas also reed or Martin but i don't know if Eric would fit kiffen 4-3 but his motor is good. Rex is better than wood head and rex is a god pass blocker which is hard to find in rbs nowadays

this statement is just wrong. Rex has great shake n bake and can shed tacklers pretty damn well
