Any idea what type of injury this is (a cut, a bruise, a sprain, etc)? Or any idea exactly what "lower leg" means (ankle, calf, achilles, shin, etc)?

#Hokies CB Jayron Hosley was limited in practice today with a lower leg injury. Told me afterward it was just precautionary.

K Cody Journell drained a 46-yard FG to win the kicking competition today, even as the specialists chanted the FSU war cry

Watched this guy kick many many times in HS, he has been a little banged up (think he had a hip pointer or something) but when healthy he is money<---- kicked 50+ in HS, kicked one 54 yards (if i remember correctly) in a 6 ot games V/s bburg. FWIW he has worked with kicking coach doug blevins for years Doug Blevins Kicking and Punting Camp

I'm excited about Journell this year! Hope he does well!

Here's an article from early last year about his injury...sounds like it was pretty painful:

Im sure most of you know about his FG ability but he was hammering KO's 15-25 yards outta the EZ in HS also. He is also pretty aathletic as he was a single wing TB in high school.

I think he saw the writing on the wall if he did not win the job it may be hard to justify his scholarship much longer...

Interesting Maddy has passed Harley already...

DarrylSlater Darryl Slater
True freshman DT Kris Harley is already behind Luther Maddy and missed mini scrimmage with an oblique injury.

More on Maddy...

thekeyplay The Key Play
From today's scrimmage, The Frankinator seems very pleased with FR DT Luther Maddy and FB Martin Scales. I expect no RS for Maddy. #Hokies

On defense, two DTs showed well. R-Jr. Isaiah Hamlette had 3 tackles, 1 TFL, a sack and a Qb hurry. Freshman Luther Maddy had 4 tackles.

Doug Blevins huh. I know the guy well. Worked with several of the specialists from my area.

Coach Gentry added a slight wrinkle to our conditioning sprints today. It sounded easier, so we bought in. We got duped.

collinjcarroll Collin Carroll
R-Sr OG Greg Nosal was helping Nick Acree with his O-line footwork before practice. Acree is hungry to learn, and frightening to behold.

collinjcarroll Collin Carroll
R-Jr DT Isaiah Hamlette showed great burst & got a lot of penetration today. Gained 17 lbs to get to 296... still quick as a hiccup.

Pretty sure a coach mispronounced Detrick Bonner's last name while yelling it at practice today... either that or the coach has Tourette's.

Young receivers Demtri Knowles and Kevin Asante continue to impress.

Vinston Painter, Laurence Gibson and Nick Acree, shine along the O-Line in Tuesday's mini-scrim.

Good info about the WRs and OLs!

To find out more, I guess you have to have a subscription to BB.com.

Did you guys see my tweet at the end of College Football Live yesterday? Reruns currently airing this morning. LT, Boykin and DW as the best QB/WR/RB combo in the nation. Probably not the case, but my tweet made the show!

FWIW, linebacker Brian Laiti has not been involved with any of the summer team activities. I don't know if anyone else has any solid info on it, but i wanted to mention it.

That usually happens when a player has to concentrate on getting his academic house in order.

Couple of other possibilities: 1) took the summer off, or 2) has an injury we haven't heard anything about.
