Havent been able to watch many of his abs but I figured that would be the case. I'd rather just see Smith hit against lefties.

Haven't seen enough of him. I think he could be a decent hitter at the major league level.

I get its the age of match ups and numbers but, Romero shouldn't be playing over Smith back to back days. I don't care what hand the opposing pitcher throws with. This is important series, play your guys.

He pitched awesome... It was clutch, imo w/ the way they've played over the last 8 games... We needed a starter to go deep for us into the game to help out our bullpen...

Yeah, I don't get that too much either... Smith is hitting .273 again right handers, it's not like he's bad against them...

• We've gone 3-7 in our last 10 games
• Lost 3 straight against the team we were tied for 1st with...
• We're are now 3 games back, 2nd place..... for now...
• Houston has now gained 4 games on us in 5 days...

But hey, at least we had a starter go 7 plus innings this weekend... That is about the only good take away I can think of atm...

Swept aside.... I will say at least Iwakuma gave us a chance today ... But it's clear were just a step behind the Rangers right now... If our starting pitching doesn't take a drastic turn all hope will be lost soon enough...

True, Romero and Sardinas did not help matters - that is for sure...

Having Marte back and then Martin will help us bring depth back to the bottom of the order... We haven't been getting much production there since Marte & Martin went down...

Yeah, 3 bonehead maneuvers all in the same inning. The lollypop toss from Romero that allowed a run was ridiculous, a total JV move. I would have invited him to sit in the dugout the rest of the game immediately.

I'm still in awe at the play in left by Romero. At least pretend like playing baseball is your profession

But Martin being out had nothing to do with Romero being out in LF when you still had Aoki, Smith, and Guti available to play out there. That was managers decision and clearly not a good one. I was a big Romero fan a couple years back, but he needs to move on elsewhere.
