So the people that said we didn't need pitching at the deadline (or in the off season when I purposed it), still believe that? You never, ever have enough pitching. All the offense in the world can't help a starter who can't go 4. Kuma is fading fast.

Kuma fading is much bigger issue then the hitting. Hasnt been the same since Boston and has pitched less innings then last year. Not sure if there is an injury but mechanically hit split doesnt seem to have the same bite.

Agreed. It drops, but not sharply. I would try and deal him for a bat. Too bad we didn't deal him for Cespedes.

Hmm not sure if the A's would have done that over Lester but his situation is interesting. We obviously will pick up his option but beyond that remains to be seen.

I don't know, I wonder if the lack of production has really put a strain on the starters. I agree you can't have enough pitching though...

That could be true. Some coaches believe in the stress innings that mean more than regular innings even at the same pitch counts.

Kuma being under contract might have been a persuader and the fact the A's won the bid on him from Japan originally might also have played a part. With that said, we might have had to throw in Franklin to get it done which would have been fine with me.

I spaced and forgot about Kuma missing all of spring training. Could be another reason why he is only able to make it about 3.5 months this year.

Does spring training help you go longer into the season or shorter because of the extra work you put in? I wonder about that. I tend to think it would make you fresher, but I could understand an argument the other way as well.

Not sure, just trying to come up with a reason he is breaking down after 3.5 months. Most likely he has unknown injury that we don't know about

Theoretically his arm should be fresher cause it didn't goggle up all the throwing of spring training and training getting ready for spring training.

I still think it's that wall I talked about which I hope it isn't otherwise the M's are f*ed again

M's score all these runs after Elias pulled. I have always had a theory that a pitcher who throws a lot of pitches each inning lulls his offense to sleep.

Turned it on late and heard Elias left with elbow discomfort of some kind. Obviously whenever a pitcher and elbow are used together its usually ominous. Seeing how he was approaching his innings limit I would imagine thats the last we see of him this year. Hopefully he is ok by spring training

Elias was definitely reaching his limit anyway. Time to let Walker shine.

This playoff chase baseball is fun!

3rd lefty starter in a row that has shut us out. These Lloyd lefty matchup lineups need to stop. If we are going to go down I want to be with our best lineup on the field.

Dude, it already IS the end.

I'm sorry, but I just got a look at that box score. One hit, two errors...An easy division title for the Angels. You have the Moroners to thank for not even trying.

Quitters, each and every one of them.
