I wanted them to make Enders Game in to a movie for 20 years. Then they did and I wished it had bever happened. The movie was OK but the book was SOOO mcuh better that it was probably impossible to ever do it justice, unless of course, you made like a 6 hourt movie to capture everything that was going on.

You did not expect the ending? Interesting.

I, as someone who read and loved the book, knew about the ending. However, I did not think it was hidden very well. I assumed we, as viewers, were supposed to have caught on to the end. I actually thought all the characters already knew (in the movie).

Interesting how the perceived story changes dramatically with just a small change in POV.

And then Card goes on to explore this for the rest of the series. I've read all of that series several times to the point that I completely remember all of it, but I still love to go back and reread.

Am almost to the halfway point of reading Enders Game. The movie sure as hell left a lot out. Wish I had read it before seeing the movie so I wouldn't know how it ends but anxious to read it since I know it will be better than the movie.

Keep reading the series...IMO it only gets better.

How many books are in the series?

2 more Ender books.

But then Card did something I have never even heard of before. He rewrote Enders Game, but from the POV of Bean. Then he wrote about 4 or 5 books following Bean post-Battle School.

All solid books, and one of the reasons I was upset they did not do a better job with Bean in the movie.

Actually 3 more with Ender. The last one is Children of the Mind. Weird as fuck. Ender's Game is the best of the series IMO, but I know many people who prefer Speaker for the Dead.

This is a great thread idea. Haven't read it all the way through yet so don't know if this was mentioned, but I'll go with the remake of "Carrie".

Had Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore, pretty good special effects and some nice modernized updates of the original.

Unfortunately, once you got past that everything was pretty much exactly the same. Too bad, I had high hopes for it.

Men = It would have been a great movie if not for the love story crap.
Women = It would have been a great movie if not for the war crap.

:pound:It failed on both fronts.:pound:

Pretty much! Or as I like to say...

Worst war movie ever? Pearl Harbor.
Best chick flick ever? Pearl Harbor.

Batman Begins.

Too many close-up action shots. Can't tell WTF is going on half the time.

Law Abiding Citizen. I really loved it but the last few minutes of that movie ruined it all for me.

Man of Steel. Could have been Epic, hit on Superman/Clark, but Lois, Zod and Jonathan Kent all totally miscast IMO

I'll probably get crucified for this, but Titanic.

I remember seeing the trailers for it and thinking it was going to be really cool, but then they went and buried a really compelling story inside a lame ass chick flick. Total bait and switch.
Women loved it.
