I had a ridiculously good Monday and Tuesday and figured the pendulum would be swinging back. The two weeks I won, I went into the weekend basically at .500 and then went on tears. I do think it's more or less luck, similar to fantasy baseball. I mean, you can't be retarded and win, but luck plays a big factor.

Agreed. Last weekend I made all my picks in a flurry on Friday morning and ended up in first place on Sunday. When i put thought and research into it, looking at SP's, team batting averages, home field, etc, I have nights like last night.

Gonna go back to having my parrot poop on the box scores and pick against the teams that get schmeared.

Someone on one of these threads -- maybe Kramer? -- said that he's over .500, so if he had been betting the games in real life he would be up. Whoever it was that said that obviously has no idea how baseball betting (or betting in general) works.

My guess -- and admittedly, I haven't done any math on this -- is that if you were to bet every baseball game, you'd have to be somewhere north of 70% accuracy with your picks if you wanted to make money.

Between the uneven money, and the bookie's 10% on losses, baseball seems like a tough thing to bet regularly.

That is exactly what I did when I won. I pick the weekend games Friday morning because it's unlikely that I'll want to sign on and deal with it on Saturday or Sunday.

I'm going to do the same thing this afternoon. Got peeps coming over Sat night and taking my kids out for the afternoon on Sunday. Plus, it's supposed to be for fun, not for agonizing over. I know @obxyankeefan is up til 3AM crunching OPS's and ERA+'s and WHIP's. That's no way to live, man!
