never said my offense was the best offense...

But I really don't like Jeffro's offense at all... He does have the best 3-4-5... But the rest I think is way below par... Pete rose and Nap lajoie are pretty pad 1-2 punch for this... Pete Rose is a career .375 OBP with moderate speed at best nap lajoie is probably a better lead off than pete rose but he is a career .380 OBP with good speed...

So he is weak at the 1-2 and he is weak at the 8-9...

I actually did not mean to point him out... was going to write a quick sentence for all teams and then got lazy half way... then forgot to erase my quick analysis on jeffro's team... But now that I got called out, I just wanted to defend my opinion...
Man, I'm not a fan of Rose betting on baseball, and I know some feel he was overrated, but get real. Rose played 23 years, till he was 45 years old lol. If you take out his rookie and 2nd year, and years of ages 41-45, the guy had a stretch of 17 years where he hit .315, including .325 at age 40. .315 for 17 years Dude

forgot all about the DH rule... that IF you move your DH into the field, you forfeit the DH spot...

I do think pete rose is over-rated, but it is not because of the betting... I think his ideal spot in the lineup is at #2... also, you are forgetting that we are comparing these players IN THIS DRAFT... everyone is a stud... Rose is just not that good compared to the other BEST players...

Not sure how anyone could think anything other than this...

You really are clueless, aren't you? Pete Rose is one of only 2 players to have over 4,000 hits, and you want to call him overrated? smh

He is overrated. He was a very good singles and doubles hitter who played forever.

Milk ur gonna have to explain the Arlie Latham pick and no it's not just because he's from the 1800s. His numbers suggest in no way he should be picked in this let alone starting.

I feel having the first pick in the draft is a advantage and having last pick is a disadvantage so why should 1vs8 be fair (which could happen if it's random) If you do it 1vs2, 3vs4 and so on you have the closest to being fair because they draft right after each other and not a large gap between picks. The draft order is random but the playoff matchup goes by draft order because it keeps things even I feel. We would see a even bigger disadvantage if we had more then 8 teams. Let's work on a compromise so everyone is happy. I just don't want us picking names out of a hat to decide playoff matchups. 500 who picked last shouldn't be punished by playing the best team. How about this: the last person to pick 8th pick in round 1 gets to pick his opponent. Then who ever picked 7th (unless picked to play #8) gets to select his opponent, and so forth. That way your rewarded in a way for having to draft last and you get to select a team you think you have the best chance of beating.

:bump: I really like this playoff idea for matchups. So does Wlk and UK. What is everyone else's thoughts on it?

It's because he is tops in steals of all time. He had over 750 steals.

Won't matter because he would never get on base against these quality of pitchers. Did catchers even have the arm strength to reach 2nd base back then? :suds:

Here's an interesting topic: I think guys who played before segregation had a much bigger advantage than anybody on steroids. Thoughts?
