Tex smoked that ball. Would have been an easy double if he could have run and it would have kept them out of that game ending double play.

With no Pinanda, and CC going down Nuna and Phelps are now in the rotation. Our 'pen is getting worn down to the point that Kelly and Warren were not available tonight.

Pineda will be out longer then 3-4 weeks which what was originally said. Man we are screwed.

Yes for a starter and a RP. Im not saying a Big trade but a decent pitcher and a strong arm in the Bullpen. This can get ugly real fast.

This post from purguy I can agree with. The rotation minus Tanaka is now a disaster.

Why can't Phelps ever pitch past the 5th inning? Is this some kind of Joba rules bs?

Like I said in April, the Yankees bullpen is now the weakest link on the team. Cashman made some good moves this past offseason but did nothing to improve the pen. Granted we're not the worst in the AL, they're nowhere near the best. The Yankees pen does lead the AL in K's with 135, so that's a plus.

The starters only have 18 quality starts. Boston has 25.

Tex is off to a strong start thank God, but now his legs are barking. DH tonight so first base will be weaker on defense.

Beltran has elbow issues now, may need a cortisone shot to relieve pain. Age always bites the Yankees in the ass.

One refreshing surprise is Solarte, batting .330 and only two errors in 220+ innings at 3B so he's holding his own on defense.

I agree make trade NOW. These pitchers in our rotation suck except for Tanaka.


Here is a weird assessment, have you notice all this TJ surgeries the last couple of years. They try to protect these pitchers with pitch count but I think the Japanese guys have it right. U don't ever really see these guys get hurt and they throw like 120+ every game but they get that extra day off. maybe its time to try this out. Maybe the Arm cant go every 5 days. maybe that 6th day is important.
