McGloin is starting against the Titans because he earned it, not because Pryor is injured. CSN Bay Area believes that if the former Penn State walk-on shines again, the quarterback change will become permanent. "This is a production business," coach Dennis Allen said. Pryor has a sprained MCL dude.. Why rush him back this game?? Should we do what the Skins did to RG3 last year and rush him back to soon, only to have RG3 blow his Knee out?? McG needs to play GREAT and WIN this game.. Cuz sitting on the bench is a 24 year old with 2 Raider records and the highest passer rating game since Gannon.. And he is Mark Davis guy.. His dads last draft pick!! Just Win and its all good.. BTW do you think the Skins should go with Cousins over RG3?? Seems like Cousins is the better QB?? And to think McG is a UDFA and cost us NOTHING!!

I only saw game on espn's gamecast so someone please let me know how McG looked. On stats it didn't look bad but not outstanding either. Sorry for your lose Raiders it appeared your D let you down today but once again that's just a observation from watching gamecast instead of TV. Hope you continue to improve with McG as your QB.

Frickin' SeaBass. He will be a 2014 casualty for sure. No need to pay that kind of money for a mediocre kicker. I think his legend has outlived him. Decent to good performance by McG. Not suer if it was the play calling or the execution, but you have score TD's when you get in position. Bye-bye to the playoff talk.

Report: Raiders believe Matt McGloin is a capable backup | ProFootballTalk

The Raiders’ pending acquisition of Texans quarterback Matt Schaub seemingly pushes Matt McGloin to a reserve spot on the depth chart.
And the Raiders are said to be quite comfortable with that.
According to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Raiders “like Matt McGloin a lot” as a reserve. However, the club judged prospective QB additions on whether they were better than the 24-year-old McGloin, who threw for 1,547 yards with eight TDs and eight interceptions in seven games (six starts) in 2013.
With Schaub expected to join the Raiders and McGloin reportedly well-liked as a reserve, the matter of Terrelle Pryor’s future with Oakland would seem to be the next unresolved issue at quarterback. Pryor began 2013 as the starter but lost the role to McGloin.

So far McGloin has out preformed Shaub. Yes McGloin has faced more backups but people keep doubting him but he keeps putting better numbers up. Does anyone else think McGloin will again be a starter for the Raiders one time this season or will he stay a backup?

mcgloin has looked ok, but i dont think , your front office thinks hes got the pedigree, he was pretty good in college, a late flier pick up, and someone brought in for camp fodder and deep back up, then being thrust up front.....

if they thought he was ok , they wouldnt of brought in schaub

McGloin is looking really good, just like he did at times last year.. Quick Release, accurate, and looks like a leader out there.. Thing is Schaub would really need to stink it up, and Carr totally bust for him to be the starter this year imo.. That is unless the Raiders really want to red shirt Carr this year.. The truth is i would rather have McG over the Bills, Rams, Houston, Cards, Jets, and a few others teams QBs.. He fears nothing and can play ball.. His stock is going up up up!! Im happy he is on our team.. And only a 2nd year player!! We can WIN with McG at QB..

McGloin is a nice story (undrafted and all) but I think he's a career backup. He can step in & start 3-4 games and not hurt your team. But, if he starts 8-10 games your team is in trouble.

Hey Houston!! AJ for McGloin!! If Carr is our future like ALL the Raider brass says he is.. Then lets deal, and make each other better!! QB trumps WR all day every day!! Thing is we got our QB of the future in Carr!! And we hold ALL the chips, cuz we have them both.. The Rookie and the 2nd year player!! O'Brien with McGloin could be very good.. Im sure RM has got a few calls for him already.. The Rams have nothing that i want, draft pick is all, and that does not help this year.. AJ would help and some!! But in the end im down with keeping McG, who knows he could be our future as well.. I just want to WIN!!
