I'm afraid Hernandez has replaced haniger..
But the mariners still need a 2b..
Hopefully trade..that will help the mariners..
Gain 200 hits..
And put..a run diff..between..pitchers...and hitters...

Haniger..being hurt..before..or in the future..does not help..the bottom. line...of around 1400 hits....good luck....meetch..

I hear but are there even left handed power bars available? With some of the new rules going into next year I am hoping the analytics people die off and don’t worry so much about power.
Yeah, me too. Maybe it will be act 2 of the professional hitter. A dropoff in strikeouts, a dropoff in walks, and starting pitchers going deeper into games. Maybe, after a few years, we will even see starting pitcher who can complete 10 games and pitch 240 innings.

As for left-handed power, the name I keep saying is Josh Bell. He's not a lefty but he is a switch hitter which is just as good and maybe better.

interesting where that puts our current outfield. With the season Winkler had I dont think they are fully embracing him going into next season. Also this is more pressure on Kelenic and Trammell and it looks like Haniger may not be coming back.

Well, he wanted to get a second opinion on his neck,’ and then I asked one of the guys, ‘Well, do you think he’ll be back in Seattle?’ (The response was) ‘Like, maybe? I don’t know.’ But I think they probably just told him to go home. … I think by the end of the season, it’s what scouts call a tired act.”

“Everything that Mitch Haniger does to prepare for a game and to get ready, Jesse Winker’s kind of the opposite,” he said. “… I think he’s not very physically strong, I don’t think he puts in the time to be better defensively or to have a better arm or any of the work that should be done, and really it is counter to what has made this team great. The last few years, this team prepares more than any team I’ve ever seen on a daily basis.”

To me I think its 100% Winker is not going to be part of this team moving forward.

This pretty much spells the end of Haniger. Hernandez is pretty much Haniger if Haniger never got hurt all the time.

So this trade makes way more sense than the day it happened. DIPoto said for years he didn't like acquiring playing on one years deals. Now he prefers it because 2026 (yes 2026) could be costly and he needs to save money now to pay for Gilbert, Kirby, and Cal. Guys that have combined for about 3.5 years of MLB experience. Guys that we don't even know will be in the majors in 2026. Guys that may not want to be in Seattle in 2026. So yes, this deal makes perfect DIPoto sense.
