Just watched his game tape from Oklahoma(2015), West Virginia(2015), and Kansas State(2015) he looked fantastic constantly shedding his blocker/blockers, collapsing the pocket, and pursuing

Also watched some Sheldon Rankins tape not nearly as impressed once he gets locked up he can't shed blockers he has no pass rush moves(he really needs a spin move) and doesn't use his hands aside from grabbing. Maybe if he's there in the 2nd round he does have a very good motor and is fast with some coaching who knows.

can't see him lasting anywhere near that long but if he did, it would be a complete steal.

Yeah he was just there in a mock i did yesterday. It seems like one of Spence, Dodd, and Ogbah usually fall to our 2nd rounder

My assessment as well. Still there are so many DTs in the draft it might be wiser to wait till day 2.

Javon Hargrave > Sheldon Rankins.

you more than likely can get him, Hargrave, in 3rd round. maybe not at comp pick.

Javon Hargrave

Love small 3 techs watched his highlights he has a nice fist step, a really nice swim move, and excellent vision. Wish Javon Hargrave | Draft Breakdown had some more game tape against better competition . I'd bet theres a good chance he makes it to our comp pick smaller defensive tackles never get the respect they deserve :mad2:

New dream scenario
OT
BSFP
Javon or 1 of the NT
Maliek(still really want this guy i think if he stayed in school another year he would be a top 15 pick especially in next years weaker DT class)

Yeah really need an offensive tackle if Reiff leaves and we don't have some guys ready to step in we're screwed.

tbh, I can't blame the kid wanting to get out of that mess now. I like Mike Riley but there had to have been something within the defense coaching/position staff for Maliek to leave.

if Reiff leaves

pretty much what I'm guessing. He'll get offered big $$$ in FA next year from some team with huge cap space to play LT for them.

the only positive on the possibility of Reiff leaving is that whichever round his predecessor is drafted, you'll be saving at least 7.5M in 2017.

It's not a very good OT class, imo.

Auburns OT, Shon Coleman, has the physical traits but I don't care for the kids coming from zone/spread teams. He is a nasty run blocker but you can see he needs technique work in pass pro. He'd be a little bit of a reach in 2nd round, imo.

nice breakdown on other thread. totally agree he isn't a true 2-gapper. He played a good bit of it, 0/1 at Southy Caro ST but he's more in line at 3-tech with some abilities at times on certain match-ups to be a 2-tech or shaded under 2-tech (although limited snaps, imo, on 2-tech). He's eerily similar to Rankins in explosion off the snap but he'll get stalled and fail to shed just like him at times too. I just see Hargrave being as good or better value in 3rd round over Rankins in 1st round.

@Stomp , here's a sleeper late pick DT. He might go anywhere in 6th rd. It's another small school talent from FCS Big South Conference.

You can see his explosive burst off the snap and speed to power conversion. He'll literally walk back OL or power to the side (lesser competition). He has the ability to maul and shed, good change of direction, eye discipline to read/diagnose plays quickly. He's very good at run stuff. He has a solid arm-over, club/rip and bull-rush. He finishes plays right to the whistle (sometimes beyond as he's a little late hitting QB). He does have a tendency to come off a little upright at times. You'll see him at 1, 2 and 3-tech. He's more inclined to be a 3-tech.

nice work there Old Man. I think Kwiatkoski can surprise..

You got eventual starters, next year, in Lawson, Fuller, Hargrave. They'd at least be rotational guys for this year which would be huge, imo. I like how Prescott improved his footwork and eyes with reads this past year. He has showed some promise. Haeg could surprise given proper coaching.

I got nothing to bitch about that draft.

well, I could bitch, but I'm saving my energy cuz this dirt bread doesn't give me any.

Nice Job nothing to unrealistic there :thumb: If we take a QB later what do you think about the kid Adams from Oregon he looked pretty decent on Game Changers(i think it was game changers anyways?) i think he's getting pushed down draft boards because he's short 5'10" I supose he'll have to get by Chip a few times though

"Detroit Lions: Kelly is the top want from new general manager Bob Quinn, according to scouts who have worked with him in the past. Don't rule out a left tackle if Taylor Decker falls to pick No. 16. A coach I spoke to in Detroit said Riley Reiff isn't expected to return after his contract runs out next season."

Thanks.

Not a fan of Adams. He is a poor mans Prescott. I am not even that confident in Prescott TBH. I am just willing to roll the dice on him at that point.
