Its the 53 man roster though, not the starters. The average age of the starters is much much less. We added a whole bunch of veterans as backups like Bannan, Mathis, McIntosh. Not to mention we have one of the oldest kickers and longsnappers in the game.

Age is a problem if it is at RB or CB, but much less so for O-line and QB. Just putting a broad brush and taking an average of the 53 guys means almost nothing.

Detroit's old guys are not key contributors outside Tulloch and Dom.

Shaun Hill, Nate Burleson, and Akers are all replaceable without to much problem.

I think Kelan Moore seems to be stepping up and playing well enough to replace Hill next year. Still, there is a chance we trade Moore and resign Hill. Just not as likely as the former.
