Bell is an elite running back, but running backs are dime a dozen.....we have a long history of making nobody running backs into good running backs.

My bad I was looking at postseason stats. But still, the thought process remains. There are teams that have achieved great results without 1 guy leading the show.

Here's the issue with that argument. The Saints and Falcons were already a dual RB team. The Patriots never just have a single RB doing all the work. The Panthers QB is the leading rusher. The Vikings NEEDED 2 RBs due to injury. The Cowboys NEEDED 2 RBs due to Zeke's suspension. We are not a dual RB team. Never have been either. Even when Le'Veon was suspended or injured, we had DeAngelo carry 98% of the load.

So in the top 10 rushing offenses this year, you have the Saints and Falcons that were already set up this way and their playbooks were set up for dual RBs, the Patriots who never uses just 1 RB, the Cowboys and Vikings who needed to use more than 1 due to injury or suspension, the Panthers who use their QB for their running game, the Rams and Bills who actually did it with just 1 guy and you have the Chiefs who's rookie just exploded early.

You have other receiving options available and Bryant could be close to AB. If Ben retires and u go with a rookie, Bell is a necessity for a youngster at QB. Plus Ben's salary wld be off books.

Like I said, you can debate how each team accomplished that feat, but it still doesn't change the root fact of it. Good teams figure out a way to accomplish it, whether its from NECESSITY or not. Yes the Steelers are a workhorse rushing attack, but it doesn't mean they couldn't change that if the NECESSITY comes about. That's something the OC will be tasked with should Bell leave for more money. Tough goal to accomplish without the best RB in the game.

No. It's not about replacing Bell's production with 1 player. It's about finding different ways to produce without him. That is what I have confidence in.
