Great story here of an auction in Pierce, Nebraska this weekend.

This dude owned a Chevrolet Dealership for over 50 years and what didn't sell he just parked. Most of these cars only have 1 or 2 miles on the odometers and have never even been registered, so they are considered 'brand new' by law.

This small town is expecting 10,000 visitors from around the US and the world to bid on these cars as many are one of a kind considering the mileage and registration. You can't even get a hotel room for 50 miles around.

That is just crazy.
New cars with just a few miles on them.
I wonder what the total dollar amount will end up being.

It's going to be "Christmas Morning" for some people, i'm sure

Amazing. But I wonder whether you'd be better off buying some old Chevy that's been driven a bit or one of these? Every piece of plastic and rubber is toast and has to be replaced anyway...and much of the metal.

Probably cost $25-$30k for full restoration, but clean title on a classic that's never been registered and a couple miles it's probably worth 6 figures.

Ever seen what they get in some of these Mecum Auctions on tv?

and believe it or not, there are still lots of questions as to what the factory did and didn't do, and markings and chalk marks with associated work done/installed. really a goldmine of information just sitting there for the restoration and aftermarket segments.

The ones inside anyway. If you look at the 2nd video, 3rd etc...The ones that have been sitting outside for decades are kind of rough, but still have the original stickers and 4 miles etc...

Apparently the guy refused to sell a used car and refused to sell a car that was brand new last years model. He just moved them to the back of the inventory.

He only sold "this years models". Weird shit.

I wonder if Wayne Carini with "Chasing Classic Cars" will be there and have a show on it.
Or that guy that does those "Barn Finds"

Somebody has to be there doing a show.
Did it say???

I was wondering the same thing.

American Pickers are from Iowa and they buy/sell automobile related advertising, OEM parts, en sech.

This dude had a lot of that as well.

Am I understanding this right??? The Dealer wouldn't sell 'last years model' or what was leftover from the previous year, and just paid it off and stored it???

If that is true, I would have to believe that most of those were the most undesirable at the time, thus, nobody bought them. I think that would have to impact the price they will bring, but I just don't know the details.

Anyone know for sure>?

I haven't read much about it but I do know there's atleast a couple Impala's and a Corvette Stingray with like 4 miles each on them that will bring a shit ton of money. It shows lots of the cars in the video above.

I cant watch those videos because of that dumb bitch who talking/shooting them.
She doesn't know shit about cars, only that they have 'only 5 miles'......whoopty shit girl.
I wish they had somebody that could actually tell us about the cars instead of what the mileage is.

I get it already, original MSO, with no miles.
What are the other details and why are they desirable other than the miles, you dumb bitch.

Correct.

As new models came in the inventory just shifted backwards. He wouldn't sell a car that was last years model, nor would he sell a trade in (regardless of miles). What he could no longer keep on site, he moved out to his farm and parked.

I think I posted a list of all the cars, but I don't know how in depth it went regarding engine size or options.

I agree the chick from the auction company was annoying.

i live in omaha and have seen all the news footage of a lot of theses cars and other than dust you dont see any wear and tear. These cars were not just sitting out in the elements they were stored inside and protected from most types of weather.
