He was only there to soften the edge of Murph. And his karaoke takes were badly edited (you can hear the actual vocals under his vocals). But granted, they were catchy.

I honestly haven’t listened to KNBR or any other am radio station for that matter since the mid to late 90’s. Do they still carry the Giants and Warriors games?

I rarely listened to FP, to be honest. Not that I had anything against him, I just don’t typically listen to the radio in the evening.

But acknowledging that KNBR is dying is kinda sad. They are my prime source of soft Bay Area sports news.

I tried 95.7 for a couple days YEARS ago, but it happened to be a slow news period, and I didn’t like the flow. I don’t remember any solid complaints I had, it just didn’t grab me. Maybe I need to give them another try.

I used to listen to KNBR a bit back when I lived in Fresno or was visiting and wanted to listen to a game while driving in or out of town. When I lived in Costa Mesa, I could even get a faint signal if I put the radio just right or my car hit a spot where it was able to pick up. However, I never really listened to their shows so I cannot make any comments about how this could be good or bad.

Murph and Mac is an institution and I'm sad to see it end. My guess is Murph will quit.

The Game is largely awful. Any station that employs "Butcher Boy" and "Guru" is illegitimate.

I doubt it. People get laid off all the time. You can’t hitch your wagon to your buddy in a professional climate. Especially when your buddy isn’t really in the same genre as you.

It is all about ROI. If they weren’t getting enough of a listener delta between a cheep syndicated show vs a paid local show, the paid local show’s gotta go.
