Lol - if you posted on ESPN several years ago there was actually a guy - nutcase named Bananaman (Bman) - that made very similar claims. In reality Watt was taken several spots earlier (that draft class was scary good - there are probably numerous future HOFers in the first round).

Bman actually screamed that the Redskins should have drafted Gabbert with that pick (Jags traded up for Skins pick to take Gabbert who was awful). That poster was a piece of work.

Truth is had the Redskins remained at 10 they could have gotten Watt. They traded back as we all wanted them to do and landed a stud so no complaints. Can't remember who they selected with the additional pick

You are correct. As for the additional pick - it gets kind of complicated since they received an extra 2nd rounder but traded further. It looks like at a minimum they picked up Helu which is not bad. The Morris/Helu tandem is one of the better ones.

I agree with the first point. I heard in the offseason that during Shanny's tenure, he didn't allow Haslett to run the defense how he wanted. I wanted Haslett's head after this past season, but didn't realize what was going on, behind the scenes. After two games, this defense has been impressive. I said the addition of Jason Hatcher was the biggest acquisition on our defense. He and Haslett's unleashed scheme has paid dividends. Of course, it's early, but still..........:yahoo:

Never been a big Haslett fan, really who in DC is, but it is true that he never had a lot of talent to work with.

:10: Agreed on all counts. The only significant changes to the talent are Hatcher (huge) and Clark and Robinson who are both nice upgrades over last year. But Hatcher and a more aggressive scheme are making a huge difference so far.

But again, we have to keep in mind we faced Fitz and Henne, not Manning and Montana. This week is a good test.

He was so pissed they passed on Brooks Reed and took Kerrigan I thought his head would explode. Good times...good times
