I wish him luck.

If the kids want to play they should be able to play. Provided they waive the liability of doing so
Unfortunately Covid waivers arent worth the paper theyre printed on. Schools know this so liability is still a huge risk

The Big Ten commissioner says that is nice, retreats to his mansion as he continues to collect his millions without having to work and he gets to watch his son play SEC football.

The good life.
Exactly.. love how people think it was solely his decision.. like the presidents would let a first year Commish make this decision on his own

Haven't read any of the comments. But if anyone has said this decision was solely based on the new Commish that's hilarious.

they should be doing petitions to the presidents that voted no.. Commish getting all those angry emails, letters or @ on social media doesn't care..

Maybe they should do some protests on campus?

Not me. Won't get on a airplane right now. And not driving 1,200+ miles.

I sent my email to Iowa President Harreld.

I don't give a shit if he voted no. As a B1G university prez, he's part of the problem.

That is what it will come down to. If the kids sign a waiver releasing the university of any and all responsibility if they get Covid, or god forbid, die from it -- they'd absolutely have a season.

The liability is what is stopping them from doing so.

I don't disagree. But until the players in the B1G sign a waiver releasing the school from responsibility and waiving their right to sue if it does happen -- the B1G won't have a season until it is deemed safe.

What is all this liability talk. It will never be provable where anyone got Covid-19, the flu, strep, or whatever. We do not sue for catching flu, so why should Covid be different? Everyone makes their own choices to play ball and everyone is going to get this virus anyway. Can I sue if I get it? Can I just say I got it on campus?

So sign it. I signed one for my kids in HS.

Have you not been paying attention? This has been a talking point since day one. It's part of the reason stimulus plans have been stalling.

There will not be a successful lawsuit if someone dies of Covid.

Maybe not.

But there can potentially be PITA ones or reputation damaging ones.

I didn't sign one for my daughter who resumes on campus classes next week.
