Why? They are practically the same age and AD has accomplished MUCH, MUCH more. Davis hasn't even entered his "prime years" yet... that... is a scary thought.

Cant deny Embiids talent.

Of course hes accomplished more, even though up to now in didnt result in winning.
I def have AD way ahead today.

Embiid might have the higher ceiling- but Davis seems healthier, and more of a leader. Each are immensely talented. davis just seems like the safer pick.

Embid has the ceiling that davis is playing at right now. I'm not sure why anybody would think he has a higher one.

Embiid's defense is the reason there is a conversation at all.

Davis has to be ahead right now for his body of work.

Moving forward, while they both need to stay healthy, whichever one can hit their threes at a league
average rate or better.... would put them in front of the other.

But, holy Shit.....

AD can be a stud defensively as well and is a better offensive player.

I would still take Davis.

But, the margin is much closer than I thought.

Small sample size but -
Embid - 24 and 16 in 24 minutes
Davis - 14 and 8 in 28 minutes

I think Embids better but isnt asked to do as much because Philly has Simmons and better role players. Embid is the best legitimate center the NBA has seen since Shaq in my opinion.

Embiid's defense is the reason there is a conversation at all.

Yeah. Davis is the clear winner on the offensive side. Even when you factor in that Embiid has Simmons, Davis is an absolutely monster on the offensive side. And Embiid is still turning the ball over too much.

But defensively, Embiid is an absolute stud. Neither is weak on the other side but I would say that Davis' offensive skills give him an edge over Embiid's defensive skills.

Embiid probably is the best center since Shaq. But Anthony Davis, whatever you want to classify him as is a better player right now.
