Jason Kidd Fined 50K For Trying To Cheat

Jason Kidd basically told Taylor to hit him - which Taylor did and knocked the cup out of his hand and spilled the drink onto the floor which delayed the game. That enabled his assistant coach Welch to draw up a play - This by the way is old school and an old trick that coaches used to do all of the time. I am disappointed in Kidd - I thought he was better than that

Would you still have been laughing if the Lakers had lost - the only reason the Lakers won is because the Nets missed the shot off of that play

I think that had to be premeditated, who just knows exactly what to do after a coach mouths "hit me".

My first reaction would be "serious?" that guy is kind of your boss.

Since I think they discussed it earlier their code words are terrible.

The only mistake Kidd made was telling Taylor to hit him. He didn't have to tell Taylor anything. All he had to do was act like he wasn't looking Taylor's way and walk right into him an drop the drink

It sounds like the average person is okay with coachers and players trying to cheat, but now that he got caught, Kidd will be watched closer and he won't really have that element of surprise at the tail end of a game. I noticed that Jodi Meeks looked upset about that and then Stu Lantz commented about Kidd pulling that old school trick

I think it made him look desparate for wins in a situation where he's got to know that management will be questioning their decision to hire him. In the 50's they might have gotten away with it some with television not be as refined, but with the high definition and quality of video taping - he could be seen saying "Hit Me" - What a duche bag

People are saying it wasn't creative but it actually was. If Kidd does not tell Taylor to hit me, nobody would've thought it was intentional and the league would not be able to fine him because they wouldn't have any proof it was intentional.
