Fields doesn’t process the field fast enough to be a good passer. Broken or simply that way out of OSU, the distinction no longer matters, imo. The numbers are bad and this year removes doubt if he is legitimately bad as a passer, he is.

Fields has consistently struggled to cross the 0.50 EPA mark despite generational scrambling ability. He’s just not good.

Poles isn’t betting his career on Fields. With that being said, if anyone can mess up Williams, it’d be the Bears. Then again, we said that with Burrow and the Bengals:
Should amend this- it’s the 0.050 mark!

He is possibly but as somebody pointed out in the NFL forum Keyshawn Johnson was the last WR to go #1 in the draft. That was way back in 1996.

I’ve seen Odunze play and I like him a bunch as a prospect. That being said, Harrison is on a level by himself. I think dude is just Fan Boi-ing a player on his favorite college team.
Exactly and I like Odunze.

No chance Poles bets his job on a guy he didn’t draft and signaled early on isn’t his guy, imo. You can write Caleb’s name in pen almost in Chicago at this point barring some upsets.
You haven't seen what Fields has done since they have started winning more lately?

Now imagine if the Bears hired Greg Roman who worked with Jackson in Baltimore....

There's 4 or 5 game changer WRs in this draft. Harrison is a blue chip prospect all the way and will likely be the first off the board somewhere in the top 5. It's really that simple. But if a team doesn't have a viable QB, it's a waste of a pick. And a lot of teams are in need of a QB., among other things. Everything hinges on what the Bears decide to do regarding Fields. THat is the first domino that has to fall and a lot of things can and will happen before then.
Colts drafted Marvin Harrison then they drafted Peyton Manning

I don’t disagree, some QB’s develop on a longer timescale, but Poles ain’t falling on the sword if he has Caleb Williams as an option, IMO. Fields playing well just means he gets a shot at being traded.

He sure is a hell of a lot better prospect than Johnny Manziel 2.0.

There’s no doubt. Washington’s Odunze is the best college Wr in the country.

I'm thinking we got RTK's cousin here with the "matter of fact" homerism. Who knew RTK had relatives in Seattle.

In terms of value, I think he is in the same tier as Aidan Hutchinson coming out. The floor is so high and Harrison Jr has a high positional value so I think it would be really difficult for a sane GM to pass on him unless there was a QB in play. Harrison Jr's film reminds me a bit of combining AJ Green and Julio Jones but not as explosive. Harrison Jr does a great job of using his length to create seperation, winning jump balls but also lets the ball come to him on and uses his size to shield the defender.

I think he is an extremely good fit on the Bears. Its going to be really interesting to see how Chicago handles this.
